Balloon Sinuplasty is the newest breakthrough in treating chronic sinusitis, sinus pressure and pain. As well as, sinus-related sleep apnea

Long Lasting Relief With Minimal Invasiveness

Sinusitis is the most common health problem in Central Florida. Affecting over 37 million people in the United States.

Balloon Sinuplasty is an in-office procedure with just a local anesthesia. The recover time is much quicker than traditional methods, which means you will back to normal in no time at all.

It is also much less invasive, because it does not require incisions, or cutting of any tissue or bone.

“Since its introduction in the mid-2000s, balloon sinuplasty has become one of the most commonly performed types of sinus surgeries. This popularity is because it is associated with such high rates of success and low risks of complications,” according to Medical News Today.

Benefits of balloon sinuplasty over traditional endoscopic sinus surgeries include:

• lower risk of bleeding
• shorter office, clinic, or hospital stay and much faster recovery time
• no intended damage or removal of sinus tissues, structures, mucous membranes, nasal bones or sinus cartilage
• fewer required post-operative appointments or need to inspect stitches or sutures
• reduced need for the use of operative and post-operative pain medications
• reduced need for general anesthesia and lowered risk of adverse reaction to it
• reduced risk of post-operative infection
• reduced risk of unintentional tissue or structure damage
• reduced risk of scarring and continued inflammation

How is Balloon Sinuplasty is Performed

The doctor inserts a flexible and very small balloon catheter through the nostril and near the sinus opening. The sinus balloon  is slowly inflated, widening and unblocking the walls of the sinus and nasal passages.

Then the sinuses are gently cleansed with a saline solution. After the opening of the affected sinus is cleared, the balloon is deflated and removed, but the sinus remains open. By gently reconfiguring the structure of the bones in the nose, the catheter restores normal sinus drainage, and keeps post-operative pain and bleeding to a minimum.
